Media Element Options
Some display options of Media Elements can be controlled by the author.
These options can be accessed by clicking the Settings iconin the top-right of the element.
The functionality of the options is limited by the playback devices used by the learner. For example, iPad devices don’t support many of the video control options.
1 Since not all video players support a separate volume adjustment, we use a Boolean Muted
parameter to completely suppress sound from a video.
2 The Video element is played using the Flash plug-in FlowPlayer, and as HTML5 video on iPad
and similar devices. The latter does not support the Auto Play option; the user must start the
video by clicking or tapping it.
3 If Auto Play is disabled for a Flash object, then the user must choose Play from the context menu
of the Flash element (i.e., right-click on the Flash animation).
