9th May, 2008 TEST skipper Ricky Ponting has turned to hi-tech


Ricky Pointing has been sharpening his batting skills with siliconcoach TimeWARP, before departing for the West Indies.The video footage was fed through the plasma screen, on a five-second delay, enabling Ponting to play a stroke and then watch it replayed immediately on TV.

Ponting, who endured a run of low scores in the summer's one-day series and failed to fire for Kolkata in the Indian Premier League, emerged from the net session delighted.

The siliconcoach UK team have taken centre stage in a large scale demonstration of video analysis at the recent ECB Coaches Association conference held at Warwick University. During three presentations led by Kevin Shine, Head of the ECB Fast Bowling Programme, over 300 delegates were shown how the Pro and TimeWARP systems can be used to give valuable feedback to players within the training environment. At the recent Australian Track Cycling Championships ,Conrad Pearson, siliconcoach’s Asia/Pacific Product Manager, demonstrated timeWARP as a tool for assisting the Commissars (judges) in officiating during events. Using the simple but powerful tool allowed the judges to instantly replay points of interest in races without having to stop recording and rewinding tape as was previously the case. At the recent ISPAS (International Society for Performance Analysis in Sport) conference at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, delegates were given an insight into the use of siliconcoach at the highest levels of sport. The siliconcoach UK team have recently completed a third series of training workshops in partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board. As a follow-up to a series of successful workshops held with First-class counties and national coaching staff in 2006/7, this latest round of training was attended by over 35 coaches from regional county cricket clubs, many of whom currently work with young emerging players at development level around the country.

25th January, 2008 ECB further supports siliconcoach products


The ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board), has confirmed it's support for siliconcoach products by supporting a program to offer siliconcoach products into the ECB coaches association, with a membership of over 11,000 members and growing the further acceptance and exposure of siliconcoach products into cricket within the ECB region will be greatly enhanced. This announcement follows the past two years implementation and training to all 18 first class counties and national teams including the ECB's renowned high performance training facility Loughbrough University.
