Cycling Australia Embraces siliconcoach

4th March, 2008, in Siliconcoach, Sport

At the recent Australian Track Cycling Championships ,Conrad Pearson, siliconcoach’s Asia/Pacific Product Manager, demonstrated timeWARP as a tool for assisting the Commissars (judges) in officiating during events. Using the simple but powerful tool allowed the judges to instantly replay points of interest in races without having to stop recording and rewinding tape as was previously the case. The tagging feature of the software meant that they didn’t have to take their eyes off the races at key times, but rather were able to review possible infringements immediately after the race or during “slow” non sprint laps in the Points event. Ron Bonham, the National Technical Director for Cycling Australia has been using siliconcoach products for a number of years and after the event assisted within numerous requests for the software. "The simplicity of the tool created huge interest and since most people already have the required hardware the low cost of the software means that it is very accessible", said Ron As a result of the extremely successful demonstration an invitation has been extended to siliconcoach to present the range of siliconcoach software at the 2008 World Track Cycling Championships in Manchester, England. There, the timeWARP software will be put through its paces as a tool to assist the Commissars and also be presented to UCI (Cycling’s international governing body) coaches and officials.
