The University of Western Australia has one of the world’s best known and respected Sports Science schools with world renowned members of staff. The School of Sport Science, Exercise and Health has been using siliconcoach products for many years, being one of the first Universities to embrace the use of video analysis for all students.
The simple way in which a network license can be set up allows whole student tutorial groups to access the software. Assignments are set using the software and it gives all students hands on access to what was previously the domain of post graduate research.
Using the simple screen capture feature students can easily produce reports and presentations for assessment. Also, since the School runs a siliconcoach Pro Server license, students can use the advanced screen recording feature that allows visual and verbal annotation of video. The power to package and present this information in a wide variety of formats allows a wide range of options for teaching staff in setting assessment tasks.
Not only does siliconcoach provide a valuable tool for educating tomorrows Sports Scientists and Physical Education teachers, but it is also providing graduates of such programs an accessible and affordable video analysis tool. Many graduates are now in positions with amateur and professional sporting organisations and the knowledge of and the affordability of siliconcoach products means they can put into practice their learning from University.
